Residential Low & Mid Rise
We have designed systems for thousands of wood frame condominium and rental apartment units across British Columbia and Alberta, from large custom homes to townhomes and mixed-use six storey buildings. While most low- and mid-rise projects are of traditional lumber construction, our team has also undertaken projects based on heavy timber and cross-laminated timber structures, as well as concrete construction.
Residential High Rise
High rise projects require special considerations for life safety systems (smoke control, fire alarm, emergency power and fire suppression) in order to function safely and effectively. The Straiton team’s vast experience in high rise design and energy performance optimization of high buildings will aid coordination, reduce project costs and avoid unnecessary construction delays.
Government
Municipal, provincial and federal agencies typically have different time horizons, stakeholders and goals than the private sector. We understand this, and tailor our services to meet the specific need of each project. Our past work includes museums and art galleries, building condition assessments, on-site troubleshooting, and design of government offices and maintenance facilities.
Telecommunications
With new technologies rolling out constantly, and network equipment heat densities approaching that of data centres, the need to reliably and efficiently power, cool, and protect telecommunications infrastructure continues to rise. We have completed a multitude of related projects, including chiller plant upgrades, high density cooling, emergency power systems, fire alarm modifications, controls retrofits and adiabatic heat rejection systems.
